Christine Walti (Chris) went to her first Yoga class as a teenager in school. Having been involved in a variety of sports activities from childhood such as swimming, athletics, cycling, basketball etc. she found yoga a nice and relaxing addition to her more high energy activities.
When a friend took her to a Dynamic Vinyasa class years later she immediately took to the physical aspects and challenges of Yoga.
A knee injury brought on by running made her take a step back and re-evaluate her ambitious and competitive approach to yoga and she got more deeply involved in yoga philosophy, learning that sensitivity and honesty are essential to get the full benefits of asana practice, both physically and spiritually, and she found that the less she got caught up in trying to get flexible and strong the stronger and more flexible she became.
She has since done yoga teacher training and pre natal yoga teacher training with Denise Sheerin of Essential Yoga in Kent and is currently training with Godfrey Devereux, founder of Dynamic Yoga. She has also enjoyed training with renowned teachers like Donna Farhi, Judith Lasater, Mark Woolford and Bridget Woods Kramer and continues to attend workshops and explore other styles and teachers whenever she has an opportunity.
Chris is also an NCEHS qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer and holds a qualification in Pilates matwork with the Pilates Institute Ireland.
She feels passionate about the benefits of both Yoga and Pilates and has found each of the two enrich the other greatly in her own personal practice and she enjoys taking a creative approach in her classes.
